A

 graduate of Northwest Missouri State University (B.S. Secondary Ed./English) and Iowa State University (M.A. English), I've taught English and journalism courses (full time) at Des Moines Area Community College since 1991.  I advise the Boone student newspaper, Banner News.  In addition to teaching, I'm the past president of Des Moines Area Community College's Higher Education Association and chair the DMACC Curriculum Commission, as well as serve on the AQIP committee. I serve as the Boone Campus group leader for English, journalism, photography, music and Spanish. Just for fun, I play the flute in the DMACC Boone Campus Pep Band.
