Final Project Specifications

Instructions:

Each student will create a multi-page commercially oriented website as a final project for this course.  The website will incorporate DHTML and XML features.  It will use CSS for all presentation handling.  The student is encouraged to make a website for an existing company or client.  If that is not available then they may choose one of the following formats.   Instructor approval is required for all formats.

Website Topics: 

• Student Selection (Instructor Approval Required)
• Real Estate Agency
• Independent Insurance Agent
• Restaurant
• Bakery
• Bicycle Shop
• Beauty Salon/Barber Shop
• Retail Gift Store
• Specialty Manufacturer (products to be determined

Website Requirements:

    General:

• Must have a home page called index.htm
• Must have an FAQ page called faq.htm
• Must have a contact page called contact.htm
• Must have two or more additional pages.

    CSS:

• Use an external style sheet for the entire site to apply a common background, text and color.
• Use an internal style sheet for one or more pages to allow for unique presentation issues.
• Use one or more inline style commands as needed.

    DHTML:

• Create one or more appropriate DHTML effects for each page on the site
• Allow for cross browser support.  (Select Cross browser design consideration)

    XML:

• Use XML to create the FAQ content.
• Use a CSS internal style sheet to display the XML content.
• Use XML techniques and concepts to display content as appropriate on the site.
