Don Helvick

Instructor, Math and Science Department

Don Helvick is a semi-retired educator with 32 years of experience. I have been a high school business and math teacher for 15 years, a K-8 principal for 6 years and a superintendent for 4 years. I also worked for the Department of Education for 11 years.

My first love has always been teaching, so when I took early retirement in 1997, I was excited to be offered a chance to be an adjunct instructor at DMACC.

The students in my classes have been great, and it has been a very fulfilling experience and an honor for me to be able to teach them. My goal is always to work with every student to help them reach their highest potential and to show them that everyone can be successful in a math course.
