General DMACC Information

A Message from the DMACC Executive Vice President

Des Moines Area Community College is proud of its reputation for excellence in the field of education and we are pleased to have you as part of our organization.  You bring unique knowledge and skills acquired through a variety of educational, work, and life experiences.  Through your talents, you allow us to offer quality programs, courses, and training.

As a DMACC adjunct faculty member, you need to be aware of the policies and procedures which impact the practice of your profession without our organization.  The Adjunct Faculty Handbook was developed to provide you with a convenient reference to important information which you are likely to need in your tenure with DMACC.  You play a vital role in our efforts to meet the educational needs of our students and our community, and I hope that the Adjunct Faculty Handbook will assist you in this endeavor.

Dr. Kim Linduska

Executive Vice President, Academic Affairs and

Provost, Ankeny Campus

Introduction

This manual is meant to be useful to all DMACC faculty teaching credit or non-credit courses.  It should be especially helpful to new faculty who need to turn to one common source of information to answer the many questions they may have. But it is also filled with procedures, practices, and Web links that veteran faculty will need to have at their fingertips. Likewise, deans, provosts, and their secretaries will want to be familiar with the contents.

Consider this a working document.  It should be updated annually and should include changes and additions that you contribute.
