Human Resources - Faculty Development

The Iowa Legislature eliminated licensure for community college faculty, including counselors and librarians, effective July 1, 2003. In its place, they mandated that each community college develop and implement a Quality Faculty Plan to ensure that all faculty participate in professional development activities. We are committed to providing our faculty with a variety of options to improve their teaching skills and stay current in their subject areas.

Please click on the View our Quality Faculty Plan to read the entire plan. Implementation guidelines follow the plan. The Request for Teaching Improvement Units link provides you with a copy of a form that must be completed PRIOR to attending a class, workshop, etc.
