Forward E-mail from Outlook

The Help Desk is here to help faculty, staff and students use the technology that is available at Des Moines Area Community College.

Below are instructions for forwarding your Outlook e-mail to another account when you are here on campus.  These instructions apply to version Outlook2003.  You can also click here for a short movie showing the following steps.

 

NOTE:  If you are using Outlook Web Access from an off-campus location, click here for instructions on forwarding your DMACC e-mail to another account.

 

1.      Open Outlook2003 while logged in at DMACC

2.      Click Inbox or click Mail button in Navigation Pane

3.      Tools ΰ Rules and Alerts

4.      Click  

5.      Click  in Rules Wizard window

6.      Click Next

7.      Highlight to select “Check messages when they arrive”

8.      Click Next

9.      Click Next again

10.  Click Yes at prompt “This rule will be applied to every message you receive.  Is this correct?”

11.  Scroll thru options and click to select “Redirect it to people or distribution list”

NOTE:  If prompted about this rule being incompatible with earlier versions of Outlook, click Yes to continue

12.  In bottom portion of window, click on the underscored text “people or distribution list”

13.  Click in blank area to the right of  and type the email address where you want to forward your e-mail.  Example: 

14.  Click OK

15.  Click Next

16.  Click Next

17.  Type a name for this rule 

18.  Make sure “Turn on this rule” is selected

19.  Click Finish

20.  Click OK

Turn this rule off

1.      Open Outlook while logged in at DMACC

2.      Click Inbox or click Mail button in Navigation Pane

3.      Tools ΰ Rules & Alerts

4.      De-select the rule for forwarding e-mail to another account (remove check mark in front of rule)

5.      Click Apply

6.      Click OK
