DMACC Adult Literacy

The Adult Literacy Program provides opportunities for adults in need of literacy skills and refresher basics in reading, writing and math. Adult Literacy classes are offered at various locations in and around Des Moines and in cooperation with local schools and organizations.

Adult learners meet one-on-one with a volunteer tutor for individual help at a neutral site, such as a church, school, or library.

Sessions are confidential. Sessions and materials are provided free to the student.

Adult learners set their own goals, work at their own pace, and receive lots of encouragement and praise.
