Why support a state institution?
Few, if any, public institutions would describe themselves as state supported. This is particularly true for Iowa's community colleges. DMACC is state-assisted. Last year, state tax dollars provided only 37.6% of the operating budget. The rest of the support came from student tuition & fees (44.6%), local property tax (8.7%), federal funding (2.5%), and other (6.6%). More than ever, DMACC needs the generosity of it's alumni, friends and business partners.
