Making Sense of Business

Overview

In business employees are more likely to support organizational initiatives and objectives if they understand the rationale behind management decisions and realize how they can add to their company’s success. Unfortunately, many don’t always understand how and why business decisions are made. In this engaging business simulation, employees will be required to develop and implement business improvement strategies, monitor competitors, determine supply and demand, submit bids at market, buy materials, pay employees, take out loans, maintain a cash flow, and cover additional overhead costs.  Four months of business will be conducted with each requiring participants to complete a monthly financial statement and balance sheet to determine the impact of their decisions.  Just like in the real world, competition is fierce and anything can happen.

• Explain the "whys" behind management decisions and organizational initiatives.
• Make better job decisions because they have a big picture view of business.
