Auto Dealer Education

The Iowa Department of Transportation requires 8 hours of Dealer Pre-licensing Education and 5-hours of Continuing Education to be completed before the date of dealer license renewal.

These classes must be taken by the dealership owner, principal, corporate officer, director, member or partner of a limited liability company or limited liability partnership. Other members of your organization may attend, but do not qualify toward meeting the dealership’s pre-licensing and/or renewal continuing education requirements.

These classes are designed to provide a solid foundation of current federal and state laws, rules and regulations, and techniques for good business practices for any motor vehicle dealer in the state of Iowa.
