RBCA Computer Training – (Risk-Based Corrective Action
to Petroleum Releases in Iowa)
This short course is a hands-on introduction on how to apply
RBCA to petroleum releases in Iowa. The two-day short course will cover
the requirements and procedures for performing Tier 1 and Tier 2 assessments.
Familiarity with the Windows operating system is beneficial.
Certification Examination
To become a certified groundwater professional in Iowa, you must attend
a 2-day training and pass a certification examination. If you are a registered
professional engineer and have submitted sufficient proof of qualifications
in geotechnical, hydrological, environmental, groundwater, or hydrological
engineering, you may be exempt. Contact Elaine Douskey, or Sherry Blaisdell,
at the DNR, 515-281-8865, for application exemption.
In order to register for the exam, the applicant must have a current, approved groundwater professional application on file at the DNR at least two weeks prior to exam date to be able to take the RBCA exam.
