Automotive Mechanics Technology Career Academy
This Tech Prep program is designed to prepare students for employment in the automotive service industry. This technological program allows students to gain experience with shop tools, automotive engines, brakes, suspension and alignment. A total of 23 DMACC credits are available upon completion of all DMACC Career Academy course offerings.

| AUT 109 | Auto Measurement & Tools - 3 credits This course provides instruction in the correct selection and use of mechanics' tools and precision measuring devices. Shop safety will be emphasized. |
| AUT 163 | Automotive Engine Repair – 3 credits A course to provide instruction in the theory and operation of the four stroke automotive engine. Emphasis will be placed on cylinder head service and repair. PREREQUISITE: AUT109 |
| AUT 503 | Automotive Brake Systems – 3 credits Instruction in the theory of operation and service procedures of automotive brakes. |
| AUT 404 | Basic Suspension/Steering – 4 credits Instruction in the theory of operation and service procedures of automotive alignment and suspension systems. |
| Year Two Classes | |
| AUT 704 | Auto Heating & AC – 4 credits Provides instruction in the theory of operation of auto air conditioning and heating systems as well as diagnosing and servicing automotive air conditioning and heating systems. |
| AUT 603 | Basic Auto Electricity – 3 credits Provides instruction in theory and operation of automotive electrical circuits. Safety, meters and service information will be emphasized. |
| AUT 652 | Advanced Auto Electricity – 3 credits Provides instruction in the diagnosis, repair and service of electrical and electronic components found on current vehicles. Prerequisite: AUT 603 |
