Phi Beta Lambda
The Phi Beta Lambda Chapter at the Boone Campus was started in the late summer of 1968 under the direction of Mrs. Glenny Tays. Phi Beta Lambda has a number of activities members participate in each year, including: fundraising, chapter Christmas party, adopting a family for Christmas, PBL Week activities, field trips, Secretaries' Day activities, graduation luncheon, Adopt-A-Highway, attendance at conferences held throughout the year, and several other service projects.
Phi Beta Lambda is a business organization. Members complete various activities, compete in competitions at the State Leadership Conference, meet new people, and best of all, have fun! If you are interested in joining, contact:

Two DMACC Boone Campus Students to be Honored at Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Recognition Ceremony
Only four Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) students are selected from all of Iowa for a ceremony to recognize outstanding achievement by career and technical student organizations, and two of the four are DMACC Boone campus students—Tricia Fogarty and Trudy Seidel. Trudy has also been selected to speak at the ceremony which will be held at the Sate Historical Building on March 16. Each of the thirteen career and technical student organizations have been asked to recommend students who have received outstanding achievements accomplished at state and national levels. Approximately fifty students are expected to attend. Governor Vilsack, the Department of Education, the Department of Workforce Development and the Iowa Association for Career and Technical Education will sponsor the event. In addition to the Governor, the State Board of Education, the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees (IACCT), school and college administrators, parents and family will be invited to attend.
The ceremony will be held at the State Historical Building starting at 9:30 a.m. A student recognition luncheon will be held immediately after the ceremony. All in attendance will be invited to participate. After lunch, students will travel to the capital to meet with their respective legislators.
