Berke to Play Golf at DMACC

Kelsie Berke, a senior at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona, has signed a national letter of intent to attend Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) and play golf for the women’s golf team.

Berke is a four-year member of the Bishop Garrigan girls’ golf team. The Golden Bears won the Class 1A state championship in 2009 and placed second in 2010. Berke won medalist honors in 2010 district competition and placed fourth in the 2010 state golf tournament.

Berke was a football cheerleader for four years. The cheerleading squad finished first in the Class 1A state cheerleading competition during her sophomore year and placed third and second in her junior and senior years respectively.

Berke has played girls basketball for four years and served as her class president as a freshman, sophomore and junior. She is currently the student body president.
