Ellie Ritscher of Benton High School Signs letter of Intent to Play for DMACC

Benton Community High School senior Ellie Ritscher (front row, right) signs a national letter of intent to play basketball at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC).

Ritscher is a four year basketball letter winner and four year starter as well as captain for three years.  She was twice named to the Class 3A Second Team Iowa Newspaper Association All-State Basketball Team, was a three-time WaMaC Conference First Team selection and was named to the Des Moines Sunday Register 3A Third Team All-State selection.  Ritscher set 13 school records overall, 11 of them this year at Benton Community High School, where she recorded more than 1,000 points and 700 rebounds.  During her senior year, she averaged 11.2 points, 4.3 assists, two steals and 1.7 blocked shots per game, including 10 double-doubles.  She led the Benton Bobcats to a school record 20 wins and a number eight ranking in the final Iowa Girls High School Athletic union poll.  Ritscher will play for the DMACC Bears who finished the season 25-6 and ranked 12th in the nation according to the final National Junior College Athletic Association Division II poll.
