Kelly Brant of Garner-Hayfield High School Signs letter of Intent to Play for DMACC

Kelly Brant (front row, second from left) of Garner signs a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) Lady Bears.  Others taking part in the signing ceremony include:  Kelly’s dad, Alan Brant (front row, left to right); Kelly Brant and Kelly’s mom, Tammy Brant; DMACC Head Women’s Basketball Coach Steve Krafcisin (back row, left to right) and Garner-Hayfield High School Coach Jim Haag.  Brant is a 6’ forward/center who led Garner-Hayfield, as well as the North Iowa Conference, in scoring her senior season.  She was a unanimous First Team All North Iowa Conference selection during her senior year.  She was an All District Iowa Basketball Coaches Association selection and her team’s Most Valuable Player. Brant was the leading offensive and total rebounder for Garner-Hayfield High School in both her junior and senior seasons.  She also led her team in steals during her junior year.  Brant will play for the Lady Bears who finished the 2006-07 season with a 25-6 record and ranked 12th in the nation.
