LaPorte City Union's Sara Jesse to Play Volleyball at DMACC

“We’re really excited to have Sara Jesse join our program,” DMACC volleyball coach Patty Harrison said. “She is a very smart player and we expect her to make an immediate impact.”

Jesse is a three-year starter for the Knights. She led Union Community to the 2010 and 2011 Class 3A State Volleyball Tournaments. The Knights reached the state semifinals in 2011 where they lost to eventual state champion Waverly-Shell Rock. Jesse ended the season with 1,125 assists, 184 digs and 40 blocks. Despite being the team’s setter, she also hit .509 for the season with 98 kills and just nine errors in 175 total attacks. She also had 40 ace serves and completed her high school career with 2,826 assists.

Jesse was named to the North Iowa Cedar League-East second all-conference team as a junior and earned first team honors in 2011. She was an all-district selection in 2009 and 2011 and named to the all-state third team in 2011.

Jesse also participates in tennis and softball. She is active in Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU) and her church youth group.
