Kaili Wells to Play Softball for DMACC

Kaili Wells Signs a National Letter of Intention to Play Softball at DMACCKaili Wells of Shawnee Heights High School in Tecumseh, Kan., signed a national letter of intent to join the DMACC Softball program. Wells can play a variety of positions, including third base, first base and the outfield.

Wells has earned all state, all-city and all-conference honors during her high school career. Wells, who also plays club softball for the K-State Techno Cats, hit .489 last season with 10 home runs and 30 runs batted it. She has a .537 on-base percentage and a .804 slugging percentage.

“We’re very excited to have Kaili Wells join our DMACC softball program,” DMACC softball coach Bob Ligouri said. “She hits with power, can run and can play a number of different positions. She has solid leadership skills, a strong work ethic and is an honor student.”

DMACC announced in November that it is adding softball to its intercollegiate athletic program and named Ligouri as the head coach. DMACC will begin softball action with the 2011-12 school year.
