DMACC Men's and Women's Basketball Teams Start Tournament Play

Des Moines Area Community College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams start tournament play this week.
The DMACC women’s team will host North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) at 7 p.m., Tues., March 2 in the DMACC Boone Campus Gymnasium in a first round National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Region XI game. The DMACC Bears, under Head Coach Steve Krafcisin, are the number four seeded team. The winner of the DMACC-NIACC game will advance to the semi-final game to be played Thur., March 4 in Creston. DMACC finished the season with an overall record of 19-9.
The DMACC Bears men’s team will start Region XI tournament play at 7 p.m., Wed., March 3 in the DMACC Boone Campus Gymnasium against Iowa Lakes Community College. The winner of this first round game will play Sat., March 6 in a semi-final game at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. The DMACC Bears ended the regular season with a 22-6 record under first-year Head Coach B.J. McGinn.
