The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) men’s golf team turned in a 36-hole score of 635 to finished fourth at the AIB Fall Invitational Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.
Indiana Hills Community College (IHCC) won the team championship with 600 strokes. Kirkwood Community College (KCC) finished second at 624 and William Penn University (WPU) was third at 631.
Freshman Nate Schill of Gowrie shot rounds of 76 and 78 to lead DMACC with a two-day total of 154, tying him for sixth in the individual competition. Tucker McLendon of IHCC won medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 149.
Other DMACC scores included a 158 by sophomore Tyler Tiffany of Ogden; a 160 by sophomore Jared Thill of Pleasantville; a 163 by freshman Andy Fraser of Huxley; a 164 by freshman Collin Bisenius of Johnston; a 166 by freshman Nate Pietz of Huxley; and a 169 by freshman Matt Lageman of Runnells. Tiffany tied for 14th place, Thill tied for 18th, Fraser tied for 27th, Bisenius tied for 30th, Pietz tied for 32nd and Lageman tied for 37th.
The tournament closed out the fall season for the DMACC men’s golf team.
