Agri-Business The Agri-Business Club appeals to students in the Agri-Business program; however, any DMACC student is welcome to attend meetings and activities by fulfilling specified criteria. The Club provides an opportunity for members to socialize during monthly meetings, network with agricultural industry people, participate in collegiate livestock judging and the summer industry tour. Club Name: American Sign Language Club Des Moines Area Community College American Sign Language Club is a student organization intended to spread awareness of Deaf Culture, American Sign Language, and promote positive interaction with the deaf. The club’s purpose is to offer students the opportunity to use and practice American Sign Language through social get-togethers, meetings conducted in ASL, field trips, projects or community service. Club Name: Anime Club The DMACC Anime Club was established by interested students. We have been doing fun events. Currently, there are about 20 members. Anime,
otherwise known as Japanimation, is the American cult term
given primarily to the animation films and TV series from
Japan. Anime in Japan, however, is defined more loosely
as primarily cartoons, including that of Disney and American
import. The

Club
Name: The Artery This is a 25-year-old commercial art student club. Students are primarily in the Commercial Art Program. The main focus of the group is to raise funds to Help offset the cost of the second year student Portfolio Day and to assist funding entry fees into other contests throughout the year. Other activities include an annual Fall Picnic, educational field trip to Kansas City, participation in the Art Directors Association of Iowa events, Local, State & National V.I.C.A. contests, Food Bank drive, Des Moines Area Community College International Year, Expressions Magazine, and those activities as approved by the club. All students enrolled in the Commercial Art Program are automatically members of the club. Membership is free. Meetings are held on Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in room 320-building 3W. Club
Name: Auto Body For more information including how to become a member, contact the advisor. The Autobody Club exposes students to different aspects relating to the Auto Collision Repair Industry. In the past, the club has prepared and sold food for the Auto/Diesel Expo, for a club fundraising event. The club has an annual field trip where it has toured General Motors Fairfax plant, Harley Davidson motorcycle manufacturing plant, and also the Chicago Auto Show. While this club would appeal to students in the Autobody Repair program, all students are welcome to participate in any club activities and meetings. Current Students - Visit the Club Website |
