PURPOSE The purpose of this laboratory is to become familiar with the vernier caliper and the micrometer caliper.

You have studied the use of the English and metric system for measurements. Two instruments used to measure distances are the vernier caliper and the micrometer caliper.

PROCEDURE

Find the length, width, and thickness of the block of wood using the vernier caliper

2. Read the tutorial webpage for vernier caliper, http://phoenix.phys.clemson.edu/labs/cupol/vernier/index.html. Play the videos on the website.
