Ritscher to Play at Drake
Ellie Ritscher, a 6’ 0” guard/forward who played the last two seasons at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Drake University.
Ritscher graduated from Benton Community High School and was a two-time National Junior College Athletic Association All-Region 11 selection. The Keystone, Iowa native averaged 11.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game last season while leading the DMACC Bears to a 24-6 record.
“Ellie is a terrific young woman who exemplified everything we are looking for in our players,” said Drake Head Women’s Basketball Coach Amy Stephens. “She will add depth and experience to our off guard/small forward position and will also improve our three-point shooting.”
Ritscher was a three-time First-Team All Conference and All-District selection at Benton Community where she scored more than 1,000 points and holds 13 school records.
