Dotson to Play at Briar Cliff
Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) women’s basketball player Likeisha Dotson of Sioux City will play basketball at Briar Cliff University in the fall,Dotson, a former Sioux City North High standout, has been a two-year starter for the DMACC Bears, leading the team in rebounding each season.
The 5’ 9” Dotson finished her career at DMACC third in all-time steals with 102, fourth in rebounds (416) and ninth in points (577). She earned first team all-region honors as a sophomore after averaging 12.3 points and 8.7 rebounds.
"We are very excited to have Likeisha join our basketball family," said Briar Cliff Coach Mike Power. "We are looking to improve in both rebounding and steals and those are two of Likeisha's strengths."
Dotson lettered in six sports at Sioux City North High School (three each in basketball and track), playing on back-to-back state basketball tournament teams in 2006 and '07. She was a starter on the '07 team that captured the Class 4A state championship, averaging 9.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
