Ciera McGaughy Signs National Letter of Intent

Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) sophomore point guard Ciera McGaughy (left) of Detroit signs a national letter of intent to play basketball next year for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers as DMACC Women’s Head Basketball Coach Steve Krafcisin looks on.

The 5’ 7” McGaughy played in 30 games for the DMACC Bears, who had a 25-7 record, the most wins in DMACC women’s basketball history.  McGaughy averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game and led the team in steals with 60.  Her highest scoring game was 24 points against Kirkwood Community College on Feb. 23, 2008. She was named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Association Division II All-Region Second Team. In high school, McCaughy was an Adidas All-American, Second Team All-American and Second Team All State.  McGaughy is the daughter of Serena McGaughy of Detroit.
