Steve Krafcisin enters his seventh year as the Head Coach of the Women’s Basketball Program at DMACC. Coach K's accomplishments include:

• Jocelyn Anderson (Gowrie, Iowa) became the first female athlete at DMACC to be named NJCAA All-American for two consecutive years. (2005-07)
• Achieved the highest team grade point average (3.40) of all the community college basketball programs in the state of Iowa, and placed 4th nationally. (2006-07)
• Placed 25 Bears on All-Region teams.

In Coach K’s six years as Head Coach, the Bears are 135-54 and 79-34 in region play.

Steve began his coaching career as an assistant at Loras College in Dubuque from 1984-87. He became an assistant coach under Johnny Orr at ISU from 1987-1994. From 1994-96, Krafcisin was an assistant coach at the University of North Dakota. In 1996, Krafcisin returned to Iowa State for one season, this time under head coach Tim Floyd, where the Cyclones finished with a 22-9 record and the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Tournament. Most recently, Steve was the head coach of the North Iowa Area Community College Trojan's basketball team in Mason City, Iowa from 1997-2004.

A native of Chicago, Krafcisin played for St. Laurence High School in Burbank (Chicago) Illinois where he was named All-American. Steve attended the University of North Carolina and played his freshman season (1976-77) for Coach Dean Smith. The Tar Heels won the ACC regular season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA Final Four Championship game.

Krafcisin then transferred to the University of Iowa. He red-shirted the 1977-78 season, and played starting center for three seasons under head coach Lute Olson. Krafcisin led the team in rebounding and field goal percentage his junior and senior year, earning All-Big Ten recognition both years. The 1978-79 Hawkeye squad shared the Big Ten Conference championship and in 1980, Steve helped lead Iowa to the semi-finals of NCAA Final Four. To this day, Steve holds the unique distinction as the only player in NCAA history to play and score in two Final Fours for two different teams.

Following collegiate play, Steve was drafted in the sixth round of the NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks. After briefly playing in Italy, Steve signed with the Atlantic City High Rollers of the Continental Basketball league.

Steve Krafcisin holds a bachelor's degree in Recreation from University of Iowa. He is married to Joanne Gawley and has three children, Jacob, Gabe and Grace.

Jocelyn Anderson enters her second season as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program at DMACC.

A 2005 graduate of Prairie Valley High School in Gowrie, Iowa, Jocelyn attended DMACC where she played two seasons under Coach Steve Krafcisin. During her tenure at DMACC, she was a NJCAA 2nd Team All-American in both 2006 and 2007. Along with being a two-time All-American, she was named 1st Team All-Conference in both seasons and she was name to the Region XI All-Tournament team in 2007. Anderson helped lead the Bears to 44-20 record and was also 24-7 in conference play during her two seasons at DMACC.

Jocelyn left DMACC by holding many of single season and career records. Some of those records include:

• Most points in a career (984) and season (510)
• Most rebounds in a career (659), season (369), and game (22)
• Most blocked shots in a career (338), season (176), and game (10)

After DMACC, Anderson transferred to Iowa State University to continue her education and basketball career under Coach Bill Fennelly. During her time as a Cyclone, she helped Iowa State advance to the 2nd Round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in 2008 and to the Elite 8 in 2009. While at Iowa State, Anderson broke the single season record in blocked shots with 75 during her junior season and is fourth all time in blocks with 97. She graduated Iowa State with a bachelor's degree in finance.

Recently, Jocelyn helped coach a team of young ladies from Ankeny, Iowa and assisted with the All-Iowa Attack basketball organization in Ames, Iowa. She also worked as a loan specialist at Wells Fargo Financial.

Jocelyn’s duties include on the floor coaching, recruiting, and scouting.

Ashley Martin

Ashley Martin enters her second season as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program at DMACC.

A 2004 graduate of Gilbert High School, Martin attended DMACC where she played on season for the Bears under Coach Ben Conrad. Ashley helped lead the Bears to a 24-9 record and was runner-up in the ICCAC with a 12-2 record. For her efforts during the 04-05 campaign, Martin was name 2nd Team All-Conference. Ashley broke two school records with most steals in a single game with 11 vs. Grand View J.V. and she broke the single season assists record with 176.

Conrad then took the head coaching job at Upper Iowa University in Fayette and Ashley followed Coach Conrad to finish her playing careeras she helped the Peacocks turn the program around in the tough Division II Northern Sun Conference. While at Upper Iowa, Ashley broke the record for most three pointers in a season at 80.

Ashley began her coaching career at Iowa Lakes Community College as their graduate assistant women’s basketball coach from 2008-2010.
Ashley has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sports Science from Upper Iowa University and her Master’s in Higher Education from Iowa State University.
