Peterson to Play Volleyball at DMACC

Peterson was four-time First Team All Cornbowl Conference Selection. She was named to the Globe Gazette All-Area Team three years. She was named to the All-District Team during her freshman, sophomore, junior and senior seasons.

As a freshman, Peterson was named to the Class 1A All-State Special Mention team. As a sophomore, she was named to the All-State Third Team. As a junior and senior, she was named to the Class 2A All-State Second Team. This past fall, she was named to the All-Star Game. She was named a KIMT student-athlete of the week.

Peterson also excels in track. She was a track state qualifier as both a sophomore and junior. Last spring, she finished seven in the state in the Class 2A long jump competition, was a Drake Relays qualifier and was the 2010 District Champion in the long jump.

She is the daughter of Jill and Mark Peterson.

“Hallie led her high school team in kills during her senior season,” said DMACC Head Volleyball Coach Patty Harrison. “We’re looking forward to utilizing her skills as an outside hitter to benefit the DMACC volleyball program starting this coming fall semester.”

Pierson joins the Bears, who have advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Volleyball Tournament four of the last five years. The Bears had a 26-15 overall record in 2010.
