High School senior Claire Bartleson (center) of Nevada High School, signs
a national letter of intent to play volleyball next year at Des Moines Area

Bartleson was a four-year starter for the Nevada Cubs. She earned All Academic honors in the Raccoon River Conference her freshman year. Bartleson was recognized as a Second Team All Conference and All Academic player her sophomore year. As a junior, she earned First Team All Conference and All District honors.
She was named First Team All Conference, All District, Second Team All State, State All Tournament team and Mid-Iowa Player of the Year as a senior after her team finished in the top four teams in the state.
Bartleson joins the Bears, who have advanced to the National Junior College
Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Volleyball Tournament
for the past three consecutive years. The Bears finished eighth in the national
tournament and had a 41-9 overall record in 2008.
