Molly Steffens from Western Dubuque High School Signs National Letter of Intent to Play for DMACC

Molly SteffensMolly Steffens from Western Dubuque High School has signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball for Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC). Taking part in the signing ceremony with Steffens (front row, left) is her mother, Cindy Steffens (front row, right) and (back row, left to right) Western Dubuque High School coach, Carrie Edgin, and DMACC Head Volleyball Coach Patty Harrison.

Her accomplishments include playing varsity volleyball her Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior years and a varsity letter winner Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior years.

2008: 3A basketball player of the week; Quizno’s player of the game (WD vs. Beckman); WaMaC 3A All-Star Game.

2007: 1st Team Davenport North Tournament; Western Dubuque Volleyball Team MVP; Western Dubuque Volleyball Team Captain; WaMaC Conference 1st Team all conference (unanimous decision); 1st Team All State; Telegraph Herald’s 1st Team All Area; I.G.C.A Senior All Star Classic Game; Iowa Elite Club Team won 1st at regional (Minneapolis, Minnesota); Iowa High Performance team member(Ft. Lauderdale, Florida).

2006: Varsity coaches award; 1st Team Davenport North Tournament ; Received WaMaC Conference 1st Team all conference (unanimous decision); IGHS coaches award (1st team); Iowa Girls State Volleyball Championships Special Mention; voted to Telegraph Herald 2nd Team All Area; Courtmasters Club, team captain; Courtmasters offensive player of the year; Iowa High Performance team member (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida).

2005: Varsity coaches award; Received WaMaC Conference Honorable Mention; Courtmasters Club, team captain; Courtmasters offensive player of the year; Iowa High Performance member and captain (Austin, Texas)

Steffens will play for the Bears, who advanced to the national volleyball tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona and concluded the year with a 46-11 record.
