Bears Receive Post Season Honors
Post season honors have started to come in for the Region XIb Champion DMACC Volleyball team. Sophomore Kayla Knobbe and freshmen Shelby DeNeice and Katie Heuer represent DMACC on the All-Region First Team while sophomore Rachel Wenzel was named to the second team. Both Knobbe and DeNeice were named to the Iowa Community College Conference (ICCAC) All-Conference First Team also, while Heuer and Wenzel were on the Second Team.
Knobbe leads the Bears in assists with 1,536 as that shatters the school single season record in assists as the old record was 1,090. She also has 302 digs, 98 blocks, 56 kills, and 39 ace searves on the season.
DeNeice leads DMACC in kills with 520 and second on the team in digs with 511. She has a kill efficiency of .304 and has recorded 40 ace serves.
Heuer has recorded 408 kills, 417 digs, and 36 service aces.
Also representing the DMACC Bears on the All-Region Honorable Mention team were Courtney Casper, Kaitlyn DeVries, Kayla Black, and Monica Driscoll. Being named All-Conference was DeVries.
DMACC will enter the Division II National Tournament on Thursday, November 15 as they receive the number ten seed and will play Iowa’s North Region Champion Iowa Lakes at 1:00 p.m. Iowa time. They take a 45-8 record and #13 national ranking into the National Championships.
