DMACC's Torgerson Named to Post-Season Team
DMACC baseball player Ryan Torgerson of Johnston has been named the 2010 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Pitcher of the Year, to the ICCAC All-Region First Team and to the All-North Plains District Team.
Torgerson, a 6’ 2” freshman pitcher, had a 9-1 record and a 4.57 earned run average in 11 appearances for the DMACC Bears in 2010. Torgerson’s nine wins tied for the team high and are just one short of the all-time DMACC record of ten wins in a season.
Torgerson had 64 strike outs in 67 innings pitched giving up only 10 walks. His 1.34 walks allowed per nine innings ranks as the fourth best in DMACC single season pitching history. His 67 innings on the mound this year rank as the tenth most innings by a DMACC pitcher in a season. Opponents hit .293 off of Torgerson for the season.
He helped the DMACC Bears to a 47-11 record this year, a 20-4 record in the conference and a third straight Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Championship. Torgerson is the son of Craig and Deb Torgerson of Des Moines.
