Schebler Drafted and Named to Post-Season Teams

Scott ScheblerDMACC baseball player Scott Schebler of Solon has been selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 26th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. In addition, he has been named to the 2010 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-American Second Team, Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) All-Region First Team, All-North Plains District and Player of the Year in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

Schebler, a freshman outfielder, led the DMACC Bears in hitting with a .446 average, runs scored (81), home runs (20), slugging percentage (.877) and walks (30). He was second on the team in hits with 91, doubles (22), triples (3) and RBI (82).

In addition, Schebler’s .446 batting average was the fifth best in DMACC history and his .877 slugging percentage was the second highest ever among DMACC players.

Schebler recorded 27 multiple hit games and 24 multiple RBI contests for the Bears in 2010. His 19-game hitting streak was tied for the tops among DMACC Bears players.

Schebler started all 58 games for the Bears this season. The DMACC Bears finished with a 47-11 record. 20-4 in the conference and won a third straight Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Championship.
