DMACC baseball player Brashad Johnson of New Hope has been named to the 2010 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) All-Region Second Team.
Johnson, a sophomore shortstop, started all 58 games for the Bears this season. He hit .380 with 14 home runs, 82 RBI and 46 runs scored. His eight triples set a single season record and also rank as the third best over a two-year career. The 82 runs driven in by Johnson this season is tied for the second highest ever by a DMACC player in a single season. Johnson also recorded 148 total bases and a .712 slugging percentage. Johnson recorded 24 multiple RBI games, which was the best on the 2010 team. He also had 25 multiple hit games for the Bears.
Johnson is among the career leaders in several categories for the DMACC Bears. His 438 at-bats are the third highest in DMACC history and his 160 career hits place him fourth on the all-time list. He hit 26 home runs during his two-year stint at DMACC. That ranks him fourth best at DMACC. His 147 career RBI are the third highest at DMACC.
The DMACC Bears finished with a 47-11 record, 20-4 in the conference and won a third straight Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Championship.
