DMACC baseball player Drew Freie of Wilton has been named to the 2010 Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) All-Region First Team.
Freie, a 6’ 0” freshman pitcher, had a 9-2 record with six saves and a 1.60 earned run average in 21 appearances for the DMACC Bears in 2010. Freie’s nine wins tied for the team high and his six saves led the squad. His 1.60 ERA ranks as the fifth lowest single season ERA in DMACC baseball history. His nine wins are just one short of the all-time DMACC record of ten wins in a season.
Freie gave up only 30 hits with 29 strike outs in 39 1/3 innings pitched. Opponents hit only .205 off of Freie for the season.
He helped the DMACC Bears to a 47-11 record this year, a 20-4 record in the conference and a third straight Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Championship. Freie is the son of Jim and Sheila Freie of Wilton.
